GFG Projects were engaged by the FKG Group Developments team to construct a 2,500sqm workshop and commercial office space for global seeds business, Nuseed.
Constructed on a greenfield site in the FKG Group’s AATLIS Precinct, the workshop included four processing seed cells, two cold-rooms and a breeder seed laboratory; and was completed within a short time frame to coincide with the expiry of the client’s lease at their existing facility.
The scope of works also included the dismantling, transport, and re-build of cold rooms from the client’s existing facility, which needed to be completed swiftly to ensure minimal disruption to the business’s operations. During this phase of the project, an issue arose when the electricity provider was unable to meet the required deadline at the new facility. To ensure that this did not cause any disruption, GFG sourced and connected specific generators, and rigorously tested and monitored the cold rooms to ensure that the temperature and humidity levels were as required before the client unload their product. The generators were used for three months, at which time the GFG team returned to site to supervise the transition to power, which was completed successfully without any disruption to the client’s operations. The project’s scope of works also included the delivery of the hydraulic, mechanical, electrical, fire and security services, as well as the office fit out, heavy-duty hardstand, car parking and landscaping.
