GFG Projects were engaged by the FKG Group Developments team to construct a 1,500sqm workshop and commercial office space for Hillmans Transport, a leading Linehaul supply company.
Constructed on a greenfield site in the FKG Group’s AATLIS precinct, the project included 18,500sqm of heavy-duty concrete hardstand, and a refueling area for the client’s fleet, complete with the installation of a SPEL Puraceptor and ground receptor.
As the hardstand area is expected to face a high amount of traffic in the future, the GFG team collaborated closely with the FKG Developments team and client to ensure that the final product would withstand such impact. Rather than gravel, concrete with a special protective coating was used, reducing the risk of wear and tear on the area, to the satisfaction of the client.
The scope of works also included the delivery of the hydraulic, mechanical, electrical, fire and security services, office fit-out, car parking and landscaping. Throughout the project, the GFG team coordinated the relevant approvals and certifications, and delivered a turnkey build within tight time frames, despite an unprecedented amount of rainfall throughout the project. The team also managed and supervised a team of local subcontractors, ensuring a quality build while maintaining the highest level of health and safety.
